Nail Trimming

Riccarton Podiatry are experts in nail trimming or reducing the nail. It is generally painless and your Podiatrist will be using specialized nail pliers that are both sharp and sterilized. The average consultation for nail trimming is every 8 to 12 weeks. Nails generally become harder and more brittle as we age due to the blood circulation deteriorating and therefore fewer nutrients are available to promote healthy nails. Your nails will often get to the point where home clippers will no longer do the job and a Podiatrist is necessary. It is even more important for a Podiatrist to cut Diabetic patient’s nails as Diabetics are very prone to infection.
